Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. Having no real clips, she sent a recent family holiday letter as a writing sample. The publisher gave her the gig and eventually made her editor of the magazine. Since then, she has been published in the New York Times, Reader’s Digest, Huffington Post, Montclair Patch, as well as a few literary magazines. She has edited two books and is co-author of Deep Listening: A Healing Practice to Calm Your Body, Clear Your Mind, and Open Your Heart (Rodale 2017). As a certified Amherst Writers & Artists (AWA) workshop leader, she currently runs creative writing groups for middle school students, high school students, and adults. As a writing coach, she works with young and adult writers on short stories, book proposals, books, essays and, sometimes, love letters. Her superpower is helping writers find their voice and express themselves in clear, concise ways.
