Summer Writing Camps & young writers Workshops
What better way to celebrate summer freedom than with creative writing? Our Summer Writing Camps & Young Writers Workshops are designed to help kids discover (or rediscover) the joy of creative writing. All sessions are inspired by the Amherst Writers Method, which centers on the use of prompts and props to spark the imagination. In small, informal groups full of fun and camaraderie, we help kids uncover their own powers of spontaneous composition. Our seasoned coaches know how to liberate the writer that lives deep within every child.
ADULT SUMMER WRITING WORKSHOPS
Our adult writing workshops meet weekly, in small groups (6-8), and are based on the Amherst Writers Method, which focuses on strengthening each writer’s voice through free-writing to prompts. Adult workshops are open to writers at all levels of experience. All writing takes place during the workshop. Beginning writers have a chance to develop personal voice and learn how to tell their stories. More experienced writers can take the opportunity to experiment with craft.
We offer single-session Writing Break Workshops as well as 6-Week Workshops that meet once a week over six weeks. All workshops are led by Amherst Writing & Artists certified workshop leaders.
